PFPE (perfluoropolyethers) are very stable and inert chemical substances which, in the right chemical composition, produce an extremely inert material with excellent lubricating properties. PFPE base oils are the basis of modern lubricant formulations for extreme requirements where conventional mineral, synthetic or silicone-based lubricating greases fail, such as low or very high temperatures and contact with aggressive media such as highly concentrated alkalis, acids, gases and cleaning agents. Therefore a clean and residue-free surface is essential, which is achieved by thorough cleaning. For this cleaning, the use of CLEAN-setral-AN/U or CLEAN-setral-FD with mechanical support, followed by post-cleaning with CLEAN-setral-INT/648 is recommended..

Residues of used lubricants or corrosion protection have to be eliminated because the pure PFPE lubricant is not miscible in any ratio with other lubricants. Thus residues would avoid the surface wetting of the friction point.

When determining the quantity of grease as well as selecting the right viscosity of oil for your application, it is important to take into account the density of PFPE lubricants, which is almost twice as high.
