setral® was originally founded in 1969 in Strasbourg/France by Jean-Léon Spehner, Jean-Pierre Lepré and Guy Grospêtre. From the very beginning setral® has dealt with the most central component when it comes to making production processes run smoothly: the specialty lubricant.
Karl-Heinz Hensel took over the company in 1985 and led setral® into a dynamic growth phase, by incorporating new production processes and through consistent further development of the product range.
The production and storage facilities were expanded in the following years. At the same time, research activities intensified in the 1990s. New production facilities and new technologies have accompanied the dynamic growth phase in the last decade. The global sales network has been expanded in recent years to ensure global availability.
